I have listed some of Aston Hue's frequently asked wedding photography questions.
Q - Will you be the photographer that will be taking our pictures on the day? If not can I meet the photographer and take a look at their portfolio?
A - When we arrange an appointment, I am the person you will meet and I am the person who will be photographing your wedding. This job is so, so important and the photographer has a huge commitment and responsibility to the bride and groom. You only get one chance to capture your wedding day and letting an inexperienced person take your photographs could lead to a major disappointment. We would also never pass out work to a photography agency.
Q - I’m busy arranging my wedding. Is it really that important to meet the photographer?
A - We feel it is very important that your requirements for the day are fully understood. When we meet it offers us the opportunity to build a rapport, this helps, as you will feel more comfortable with me at your wedding, and I will fully understand your photography requirements on your special day.
Q - Do you have a contract in place? If not can you have one drawn up? If there is a contract, can we go through it together?
A - Yes, when we meet I go through the contract with you, all the packages are detailed so there’s no confusion in what is and is not included within each of the packages. The timings and pricing are also explained.
Q - What type of equipment do you use? Do you bring any back up equipment should anything go wrong?
A - I use Canon professional equipment, 1D MK III camera’s, L Series lenses and 580ex II flashes. I always bring at least three cameras, back up lenses and flashes to each photo shoot.
Q - How far are you willing to travel before you start charging? Are you willing to travel to two venues?
A - I cover a 40 mile radius before I apply any travelling charges, 0.80p is chargeable for each additional mile. I am happy to travel to more than one venue e.g. church and reception venue.
Q - What style of wedding pictures do you take? Creative, reportage, traditional or mixed? Do you shoot in black and white, colour or both?
A - Before your wedding day we will discuss and agree the type of coverage you require. My style can range from contemporary, documentary, traditional, reportage and creative depending on requirements, I usually cover all these photographic styles, as the captured images offer a varied selection of pictures for your wedding album. All photographs can be viewed and purchased in both colour and black and white.
Q - How long have you been a wedding photographer? How many Weddings do you attended per year?
A - I studied photography and digital imaging at Filton college, Bristol. I have always had an interest in photography and videography; I finally made the leap to a professional level around 7 years ago. I now attend approximately 40 weddings per year. I also carry out commercial, event and portrait photography.
Q - Do you have Professional Indemnity Insurance?
A - Yes, this is something every professional photographer should have in place.
Q - What exactly is included in the package?
A - We will take you through each of our wedding packages during the initial consultation so you know exactly what is included. You can also choose to have a bespoke package; this can be tailored to suit individual requirements.
Q - How long after the wedding will the photos be ready?
A - Photographs will be fully edited and available for viewing on a DVD three weeks after your wedding (this may be quicker during off peak times). Your bespoke mock wedding album design (excluding Digital Package) will also be contained within the DVD. The images are uploaded to a website for online viewing, your wedding gallery will also be password protected.
